After a rip roaring Christmas lunch. MPPC's official play started back on January 18th, with our monthly club championship, the mens winner was our current 2025 Club Champion Sean Kelly, and the ladies was won by a past President of the Club, Jan Macinnes. The following Sunday ws our Australia Day Celebration bar-b-q. A great day was with our 'hot shot competition', enjoyed by all and won by Graham Jones. March saw current ladies Champiuon Gill Wright and club coach Rod Hall take out the the Championships. March also saw one of our most popular mambers Wendy Doyle announce she was moving house closer to her family in Ivanhoe. We also had a long overdue concrete apron laid at the piste.Club volunteers were also acknowledged in our Monthly Newsletter. Our club held a fabulous St Patricks bbq and fun day,lots of green and lots of Irish music all day!, plus a nip of 'Baileys' made it a special day. Jan Mac supplied birthday cake for the many members with birthdays in March. Pennent Competition was also announced to be held during March against Main Ridge, St Andrews ands Mt Martha petanque clubs.Our home pennant competion day was a massive hit with all the competitors. Club Social organiser Karin Reich arranged for a group to attend 'Opera on the Lakes', a fabulous getaway for so many keen members. March Club Champions Tony Robertson and Karin Reich enjoyed their wine prize. April was Easter month, and a fun lunch for Wendy Doyle was enjoyed by 25 members at the Baxter Tavern. Bob Port and Jennifer Cuthbert were our eventual April Club Champions, after a few weeks of cancellations due to inclement weather. Rod Hall's Saturday Wednesday, and Thursday coaching days wee thriving. President Greg arranged for a large Club motif to be displayed permanently on a windbreak adjacent to the piste. April 25th was of course ANZAC Day, and a few members attended the dawn service along with a breakfast in Mornington afterwards. May came around so quickly and the weather was slowly changing. Di Maitland had a deserved Championship win in the ladies, along side back to back winner Bob Port in the mens. May also saw a social group trip to Sorrento at 'Onda', a light breakfast, coffee and chat was enjoyed by 12 members. Also in May the '10 year of Membership' was born, with 13 long term members already qualifying. A club dinner at 'Tanti' in Mornington after social petanque concluded May. June saw President Greg Power and 'Life Member' Theresa Leahy take out the mens and ladoes Championships respectfully on a full fun packed Sunday 7th June. The Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held on Wednesday 17th June at the Moorooduc Hall, Derril Rd., and as current President Greg Power, and Treasurer Linda Power are stepping down, a new Committee will be elected, Greg
